Back in 2007 I played over 60,000 hands of HULHE poker. My goal was to switch careers from a math teacher to an online poker player. I earned more money per hour playing HULHE than I did as a middle school match teacher. Here is a screenshot from Hold'em Manager of my win rate:
Soon after was "Black Friday" where the DOJ shut down Full Tilt and Poker Stars. Moving to Canada (the land of the free - where online poker is still active) was a strong consideration. Ultimately I instead switched careers to become a computer programmer, and used those skills to research my one true love: HULHE poker. Note: the one true love after my wife that is!
In early 2017 my research culminated in the realization that I likely knew more about HULHE than anything I'd ever seen published. Instead of this information being lost to time, I decided to write it down.
During my writing, I stumbled upon Cepheus. To focus my writing on what actually matters when playing HULHE, I decided to play Cepheus. A love affair was sparked, and I played Cepheus for about 5,000 hands! From those videos, I selected specifics which I included in the new book, and posted those specific videos in their entirety on www.hulhe.com, the parent site for my poker research where you can use (for free!) the software tools I developed to do my poker research.
The new book was born, December 26th, 2017, ten years after Black Friday. A great graphics design friend made the cover, and it's now available on Amazon!
